It was very moving to capture the enthusiasm and commitment of this teen entrepreneur, along with the support of his family and community, to collectively build his streetwear brand. Many years ago, before converting to digital photography, I only used Fuji film as it was superior for handling darker skin tones. To compensate for the algorithmic bias present in digital cameras today, I have developed a system to expose for — and color correct — digital images of people with darker skin tones.
